Join us for our 4th Annual Saxophone Day @ Wayne State University on April 13, 2019. This event is open to any and all area middle school, high school, collegiate, or adult amateur saxophonists with a passion for improvement in their saxophone playing abilities. Some of the many exciting events for the day are listed below:
-Masterclass with Guest Artist Dr. Stephen Page (University of Texas-Austin) and WSU Faculty Dr. Matthew Younglove
-Jazz Improvisation Clinics with Russ Miller and Chris Collins
-Recital Featuring Dr. Page, Dr. Younglove, and others!
-Large Saxophone Ensemble Reading Session
-Product trials with area vendors
-Balance: Achieving Equilibrium Between Air, Embouchure, and Voicing – a lecture presentation by Dr. Stephen Page
Cost: Registration is $35. Every registered student receives an event t-shirt and a pizza lunch (those with dietary restrictions, please email the event coordinator in advance of the event day). Registration includes participation in all events.
Masterclass participation: If you are interested in performing a work from the standard saxophone repertoire in the masterclass, please be sure to indicate it on the registration form. A pianist will be provided. Pre-existing quartets are welcome to apply. Registration Deadline: March 29, 2019.
